One Hundred Scenes of Animals: From the Collection of the Edo Tokyo Museum

Yamanashi Prefectural Museum
Finished
This exhibition focuses on the history and culture of "Life with People and Animals," featuring the collection of the Tokyo Metropolitan Edo-Tokyo Museum. It is an expanded version of the well-received "Living with Animals: Edo-Tokyo" exhibition held in 2022 at the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris, France. Approximately 240 carefully selected art and craft items from the museum's collection will be displayed. The exhibit includes ukiyo-e prints, scrolls depicting the lively coexistence of Edo people and animals, kimonos, and hairpins incorporating animal designs, charmingly depicted animals in paintings, daily life items, toys, and more. Additionally, it will highlight animals with significant connections to Yamanashi. Enjoy exploring the various aspects of this delightful theme.
