Musee Hamaguchi Yozo / Yamasa Collection

[Image: Musée Hamaguchi Yozo: Yamasa Collection]

Yozo Hamaguchi was born as the third son of Gihee Hamaguchi, the 10th generation of the historic Yamasa Soy Sauce Company, which has been in business for 350 years. His father Gihee was a collector of Nanga paintings and studied Nanga himself.

In 1996, Yozo Hamaguchi returned to Japan after a long period of living abroad in Paris and San Francisco. Hamaguchi opened an art museum to exhibit many of the works he brought back with him permanently. We aim to create a museum of high quality to fully convey the appeal of Yozo Hamaguchi's works.
