This project, "Being Organic," is an initiative to practice and examine the various connections between what is inside bodies and the outside systems in collaboration with artists.

For this first edition, the composting project will be held at cafe Ubuntu in 3331 Arts Chiyoda, an art center in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward. Composting is a traditional method of using microorganisms to decompose and ferment food scraps and other organic materials to create soil that can be used as compost.

This project, with the cooperation of Soichiro Mihara, who has recently been creating works on the process of decomposition by microorganisms, will install equipment and exhibit the status and process of organic matter decomposition, creating a place where the artist, the cafe, and the users of the facility can continuously intervene in this process.

The project aims to rethink the cycle of food from death to life and its scale from the perspective of food and material cycles and to create an environment that allows people to appreciate events in the world of decomposition. The event will be operated as a site (place) to recapture our sense of the ecosystem, including human beings, by connecting the events in the world of decomposition with the viewer's own experience of it.
