Art Kyoto is an international art fair that exhibits and sells artwork carefully selected by galleries and art dealers from Japan and abroad. The fair was launched in 2019 at the World Heritage Site Nijo Castle to drive the global art scene. The fair does not limit itself to ancient and modern art of the era, from antiquity to contemporary art. Instead offers a variety of experiences from appreciation to ownership regarding art that creates value for society from new perspectives while keeping history in mind.
The third of Art Kyoto 2022 will be held in conjunction with "Art Walk Kyoto," a project commemorating the relocation of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. The Nijo Castle Ninomaru Palace Kitchen and Goshojo, which are normally not open to the public, will be used as a stage to communicate the value and potential of art to the rest of Japan and the world.
