Artists

Alphonse Mucha
Alfons Mucha (1860-1939), known as a prominent painter of Art Nouveau, is famous for numerous poster works, including Sarah Bernhardt's theatrical poster "Gismonda," but in reality, Mucha worked on a wide range of genres.

The graphic and product designs combining graceful female figures and flowers, characteristic of Mucha's works, harbor a charm distinct from the artist's paintings. This exhibition will focus on Mucha's design work, especially during the Belle Époque era, symbolized by his art, from the late 19th century, from the collection of Dr. Zdeněk Chmela, a resident of the Czech Republic.

Enjoy various forms of Mucha's works, including oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, and photographs, centered around illustrations in books, postcards, packaging for confectionery and perfumes, jewelry, and more.
