Desk/Okumura is an artist run space and home of Naoki Okumura in Central East Tokyo which has provided a vibrant platform for the projects of young artists. With the aging of the building the venue plans to move on elsewhere this year but not before gathering a great many friends for a good send off. Celebrating the special relationships with artists and creators which have been built up over the years of running this space, Naoki Okumura reflects on the discourse surrounding community art projects and alternative spaces, turning an eye away from relations of a large scale and placing an emphasis on the importance of small scale connections.
