Hagiwara Projects is pleased to present Black Ball, a solo exhibition by Yuta Hayakawa, opening on March 8,
2025. This marks his first solo exhibition in approximately eight years since 2016.
Hayakawa has explored fundamental questions about human existence and its relationship to the world through his
sculptural and installation-based works. Incorporating physical phenomena such as gravity, air, and the surface tension
of water, his practice investigates the materiality of objects and the nature of touch.
About ten years ago, Hayakawa experienced a significant physical challenge, which led him to sharpen his awareness
of standing, weight, and tactile sensations. Since then, he has continued to explore the relationship between his body
and sculpture. This exhibition presents works that reconsider the way objects exist in the world and how we engage with
them.
