This summer, the Kochi Prefectural Museum of History special exhibition room will be transformed into a toy zoo! From the collection of local toys donated by collectors Shigeru Yamazaki and Masaharu Shirota, this exhibition will display a selection of clay dolls and paper-mâché toys with animal motifs.
The exhibition will feature animals unique to each region, such as a wooden bear from Hokkaido and a whale cart from Kochi Prefecture, as well as animals from the Chinese zodiac, including next year's dragon.

1. Lecture "Animal Folk Toys: Habitats and Benefits"
Date: August 20 (Sun), 14:00-15:30

Capacity: 100 people (reservation required)
2) Exciting Work: "Painting Tosa Washi Plaster Hariko-e on Tatsun"

Capacity: 20 people per session
Fee: 1,500 yen (reservation required)
3. Exciting Work "Let's Make Animal Stamps of Local Toys!"

Capacity: 15 people per session
Fee: 1,200 yen (reservation required)
4. Museum Talk
