Shapeshifting

MON Gallery and Wine Bar
Finished
MON is pleased to present “Shapeshifting - Transformation,” a collaborative project with ”yes”, an upcycling business of old objects based in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. In this exhibition, we will exhibit and sell “P/OP,” a brand that uses acrylic panels to create new value from chests rescued from vacant houses in Toyama Prefecture, and “Re-Bear Project,” a product that upcycles wooden carved bears through the power of art. We have paired TILE KIOSK, which has been available since the opening of MON and resonates with the concept of “yes”, and hold a pop-up store at the same time. We would like to show how old chests and carved wooden bears have been transformed and how tiles can be “transformed” into all kinds of things by being used for purposes other than their original purpose. During this period, the Wine Bar would have some wine produced in Toyama Prefecture paired with “Tsuriya” a brand of preserved food from the sea made from selected seasonal ingredients caught off the coasts of Himi and Noto.
