Artists

O Jun
This exhibit features works exhibited at Soh Gallery (Tokyo) while O Jun was in Germany in 1993, as well as unpublished paintings reflecting his intentions at the time of creation and an exhibition leaflet contributed by the late cultural anthropologist, Masayuki Nishie, who was a close friend of the artist.

O Jun is currently a member of Mizuma Art Gallery (Tokyo), where he continues to actively exhibit his works. In addition to painting, he has been presenting performances and live drawings indoors and outdoors since the late 80s. Since 1990, he has added lithographs and other print media and continues to experiment and create works that explore the relationship between the body and expression through "drawing" across a variety of mediums and venues. This is his second exhibition following the one held three years ago, and this time he is presenting a photographic work.

The late Masayuki Nishie, a cultural anthropologist and linguist, said in one of his contributions, "Photography is a device to stop time with the help of light.” O Jun's photographs are vehicles that can erase or create time with the help of light.
