This volume features approximately 700 lots, the largest number ever offered by MEGURU. The lineup includes a wide variety of Japanese art, from works by great masters such as Ito Jakuchu, Katsushika Hokusai, Yokoyama Taikan, and Uemura Shoen, to auspicious paintings perfect for the New Year, and elegant works by Sakai Hoitsu, the founder of the Edo Rinpa school who was strongly influenced by Ogata Korin, as well as Suzuki Kiitsu. In addition, the diverse lineup includes calligraphy by historical figures such as Saigo Nanshu, Tokugawa Yoshinobu, and Shibusawa Eiichi, ceramics by Hamada Shoji and Kawai Kanjiro, who were both key figures in the Mingei movement, and last but not least chintz prints, which will be making their first appearance at MEGURU. All works will be exhibited at the gallery without glass casing. An opportunity to view the subtle textures and details of each work, visitors are offered the chance to experience art at its fullest.
