Kuniyoshi Utagawa et al.
Around the year 1841, Kuniyoshi Utagawa (1797-1861), a ukiyo-e artist known for his unparalleled love of cats, began releasing artworks depicting cats as human-like figures or actors with cat faces.

This exhibition primarily focuses on Utagawa's works featuring cats as subjects, exploring the charm of anthropomorphism from the Edo period to the Meiji period.
