"What if my cat talked like a person?" Have you ever imagined such a thing?
The term "anthropomorphism" refers to the act of likening something other than a human being to a human being. Around 1841, the ukiyo-e artist Kuniyoshi Utagawa began to produce a series of works in which he anthropomorphized cats and actors as cats.

This exhibition focuses on the anthropomorphic cat work of Utagawa himself and highlights the fascination with anthropomorphic expression in the Edo period and Utagawa’s fascinating life.
