Edo-Tokyo Museum Collection Exhibition - Daily Life and Vehicles in Edo-Tokyo

Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum
Finished
Various modes of transportation play active roles in cities. Additionally, the types of vehicles have been unique depending on the era. It could be said that transportation reflects the era of the city.

Now, what about the people riding these vehicles? As we go back in time, the social status and hierarchy become more restricted. There were even laws governing this. Moreover, there were service providers who powered these vehicles. Of course, some artisans crafted these vehicles. By focusing on transportation, a glimpse can be taken into the activities of various people living in the city.
