This exhibition introduces 25 ceramic artists nominated mainly from the generation born in the 1970s to the mid-1980s, all of whom have won prizes or been selected for the Kikuchi Biennale, an open-call exhibition that the museum has been holding every other year since 2004.

The artists, who are now in their 40s or late 30s, have their unique perspectives on ceramic materials, techniques, production processes, history, traditions, and other elements related to ceramic art, or they reflect contemporary art ideas and influences from various cultures to create ceramic works with a current aesthetic sense.

Although there is a wide age range to classify them as a single generation, this generation, which includes baby boomers and is mostly comprised of the Lost Generation, has a strong presence in the Japanese ceramic art world, and from the early stages of their production, they have been actively showing their works at various public exhibitions, including the Kikuchi Biennial, and have made their presence felt.

The current situation differs, with some artists continuing to present their work at public exhibitions, while others focus on solo exhibitions in Japan and abroad, or have resumed their activities in earnest after giving birth or raising children.

To commemorate the 10th exhibition of the "Kikuchi Biennale" this year, the exhibition introduces the present state of 25 artists as their trajectory and shows their ceramic works in progress.
