Kyoto ddd Gallery is launching an exhibition project that focuses on local graphic design and various forms of art, introducing designers who are deeply rooted in their communities. For the first installment of this project, we will feature Ripphei Mensha, a group brought together by Keizo Matsui. These six individuals are based in Hiroshima and form a creative collective that combines design and art thinking to promote their work from a local to a global scale. Despite their diversity in age, career, experience, and working styles, their approach to design, driven by a quest for innovation, is profoundly human, principled, and highly experimental.

The exhibition will showcase their design work to date, including moving paper sculptures, optical illusion sculptures that play with perspective, and art-science collaborations involving paper, all specially created for this event.
