Francis Haar
Hungarian photographer Francis Haar (1908-97) fled from Europe to Japan due to the ravages of World War II, pulled by a mysterious thread of fate. He continued to promote Japanese culture overseas throughout his life, before and after the war. This exhibition features portraits (original vintage prints) of thirteen Japanese artists he interviewed and photographed before moving to the United States in the fall of 1956.
