Iwate Museum of Art

West Entrance

The Iwate Prefectural Art Museum opened in October 2001. The main feature of the museum is its collection of works by local artists such as Tetsugoro Man, Shunsuke Matsumoto, and Yasutake Funakoshi.

The museum aims to further develop these collections that Iwate Prefecture has collected and exhibited so far, and pass them on to the future as the common property of the people of the prefecture. At the same time, we would like to enrich and preserve the work in our collection and make the museum even more attractive by not only exhibiting the collection but also actively developing interactive programs for people of all ages.
