What's Art? - Summer Break: Spending Time Seeing, Learning, and Playing at Museum

Tottori Prefectural Museum
Finished
As the summer of 2024 approaches, with less than a year until the opening of the new prefectural art museum, the Tottori Prefectural Museum aims to provide an exhibition where families and those who have felt somewhat distant from art can enjoy it more casually. By freely exploring the venue, visitors can unknowingly encounter the expansiveness and fascination of the art world, offering an experience akin to encountering art exhibitions.

In this exhibition, drawing from the diverse activities the museum's art department has engaged in for over 50 years, the museum will introduce various artworks from the museum's collection, and works by prominent domestic and international artists, through various perspectives. Visitors wandering through the exhibition space will engage their senses and experience the fascination of art and the museum as a place, regardless of their prior knowledge. Through this exhibition, the hope is to lower the threshold for those who have felt intimidated by museums in the past or have had little interest, fostering anticipation for the new prefectural art museum.
