Traveling Jomon-san - A 5,000-Year-Old Lost Item

Toyota City Museum
Finished
The Jomon period, which spanned an incredibly long 10,000 years, was marked by a particularly rich cultural diversity around 5,000 years ago. During this time, people across various regions crafted unique Jomon pottery, such as the famous flame-style pottery. The items left behind by the Jomon people, found in archaeological sites and as artifacts, offer us glimpses into their way of life, the tools they used, and the plants and animals they coexisted with.

Current research has also revealed that the Jomon people engaged in widespread trade, with both people and goods traveling across the Japanese archipelago. Take a journey back in time with "Jomon-san" and explore life in the Jomon period from 5,000 years ago.
