Okamoto Taro: A Retrospective

Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Taro Okamoto
After returning to Japan, Taro Okamoto advocated "contrapuntalism," which became the core of his artistic philosophy, and developed his theory of culture and art not only through his production but also through books such as "Art Today" and "Japanese Tradition." His work such as the huge sculptures and wall paintings in public spaces, with "Tower of the Sun" at the top, symbolize Taro Okamoto's belief that "art belongs to the masses," and for this reason, even after his death, his work continues to attract many people. This exhibition will cover all of Taro Okamoto's major work, while also introducing work from his later years that has not received much attention until now.
