Artists

Koji Nakazono
Koji Nakazono (1989-2015) has created a wide variety of paintings that leave a vivid impression on the viewer. After graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Nakazono worked in the Kanto area before moving to Kagawa Prefecture, which overlooks the Seto Inland Sea, at the end of 2014, but he passed away the following year at the young age of 25. His paintings, created with a superb sense of style, are based on his personal inner necessity, but they also evoke the torrent of excessive images in contemporary society, appealing strongly to the depths of consciousness.

Nakazono wrote in his notebook, "When I am looking at something, I need someone to look at it with me.” This exhibition, the largest solo exhibition ever held in Kagawa Prefecture, where he spent the last years of his life, presents approximately 200 of his works in one place.
