Kayoko Kimura
Galerie Taménaga is delighted to announce its first solo exhibition of Kayoko Kimura, titled VIS VIVA FLORA, commencing from Saturday November 9th, to Sunday December 8th, 2024. This exhibition will feature some 40 new artworks by Kimura, who has already garnered previous success at numerous art fairs and group exhibitions.

The title “VIS VIVA FLORA”, embodies the strength and beauty of life that Kimura infuses into her floral motifs. They serve as a poignant reflection on nature’s vibrant life force, juxtaposed against the inevitability of its end. Through this dynamic, her work engages with universal themes such as time, life, and death, explored through the all-encompassing concept of the universe. The profound depth achieved by multiplicatively layering various colours of paint, paired with intricate and vividly detailed flowers, culminates in an entrancing allure that only deepens the longer it captures the viewer’s attention.

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, Nichibo Publishing will release Kimuraʼs first art book, FLORAISON: Kayoko Kimura Works Collection. In conjunction with this milestone, Galerie Taménaga will collaborate with the esteemed Italian fragrance house Santa Maria Novella to offer visitors a multi-sensory experience. We invite everyone to immerse themselves in Kimura’s world, enhanced by the captivating scents associated with her works.
