Isamu Wakabayashi "Myself"

Yokota Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Isamu Wakabayashi
Isamu Wakabayashi's works are often small wood carvings of himself. These charming little figures, carved out of rustic wood and bandaged to the body, are both his own image and a way for him to measure the space around him relative to the objects in his works.

This exhibition will focus on a group of self-portraits he produced intermittently between 1985 and 2001, with some interruptions, and will also include related works.
