Barthélémy Toguo
Bridging painting, sculpture, installation, and performance exploring themes of migration, identity, and social justice. Toguo’s art is deeply engaged with global issues, often addressing the movement of people and goods across borders, as well as environmental and political concerns.

His work has been exhibited in major institutions worldwide, including the Venice Biennale, the Centre Pompidou, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). He is also the founder of Bandjoun Station, a cultural and artistic hub in Cameroon that supports emerging African artists.

His upcoming solo exhibition at space Un will be his first in Japan, marking a milestone for both the artist and the gallery. This exhibition will be part of Space Un’s 1st-anniversary celebration, showcasing new works created during his residency at Yoshino.
