Junko Koshino "Origin to Present"

Oita Prefectural Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Junko Koshino
From the design drawings she made as a high school student in Osaka – the starting point of Junko Koshino's creativity – to the works that won her the Soen Prize, not to mention designs such as portraits of boutiques in the 1960s and uniforms for Osaka’s 1970 World Exposition, Koshino has created a unique ideology of fashion, drawing on concepts such as "opposites," "the universe," "rationality," and "eternity." She also works with the taiko group Drum Tao, which is based in Kusumi, Oita Prefecture and active across Japan and abroad. This exhibition will introduce Koshino's work from past to present, including her involvement with Drum Tao. A variety of related events planned with Koshino will also be held.
