This exhibition, held to commemorate the opening, will introduce the design and construction processes for the building through sketches by Kengo Kuma (b. 1954), the architect who undertook the basic design of the new building, and other materials such as maquettes from the early stages of the project. The exhibition will also feature six new sculptures by contemporary sculptors Atsuhiko Misawa (b. 1961) and Koji Tanada (b. 1968) created from camphor trees found on the construction site, as well as sketches, drawings, and other materials.
