Artists

Atsuhiko Misawa
Atsuhiko Misawa (1961-), one of the leading sculptors in Japan, has been working on his signature series "Animals" since 2000. Using camphor wood, he carves life-size figures of various animals and paints them, giving his wood sculptures an overwhelming presence that has captured the hearts of a wide range of viewers. His motifs range from familiar animals to imaginary creatures, and he continues to pursue a unique reality that differs from realism. This exhibition introduces approximately 100 sculptures and paintings, including the most recent works.
