The Resuscitation of Time: Kakinoki Project is an art project to experience “the folly of war, the meaning of peace, and the importance of life” while planting persimmon tree seedlings with children who were exposed to the atomic bomb in Nagasaki. It has been a quarter of a century since the contemporary artist Tatsuo Miyajima launched the project in 1996. Since its launch, the project has planted trees in more than 312 locations in 26 countries around the world.
