“Abstrakt” will be held as the second exhibition at Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka, introducing the German artist Gerhard Richter. The exhibition, which is part of the “Hors-les-murs” programme, held in various Espace Louis Vuitton around the world, will display singled out works from the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s collection. Espaces in Tokyo, Munich, Venice, Beijin, Seoul, and Osaka are realizing Fondation’s mission and creating opportunities through international projects for more people to view the artworks from the collection.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton has chosen 18 of Richter’s works from the collection for Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka, with which the artist’s creative activity over a span of 30 years can be retraced. Among them two works, “940-4 Abstraktes Bild” and “941-7 Abstraktes Bild” (2015), will be exhibited for the first time.
