This is Kojiro Kobayashi’s third exhibition at this gallery, following on from “Hollow” and “Concave” in a series that looks to find a passage to other worlds that disregard perception. This is based on the concept that organisms such as animals can exist in distinct umwelten, also known as self-centered worlds, even though they share the same environment. The artist pays great attention to the contours of his sculptures, as for him concerns over outlines and boundaries are one and the same problem. In this exhibition, Kobayashi develops his attempt to step outside of perceptions of individual consciousness further.
