Mari Ito
In 1978 Etsuro Ishihara established Zeit-Foto Salon as the first gallery in Japan to treat photography as fine art and championed the work of many innovative artists. Mari Ito met with him before he passed away in February of this year and had promised to make new work for the gallery. With the passing of Ishihara the significance of this work intensified and has evolved into this exhibition.
