Sadao Hasegawa
Gallery Naruyama is pleased to present the exhibition “Sadao Hasegawa 1978-1983.”
Sadao Hasegawa is a distinctive artist who published works in the gay art scene.
Owing to recent 70’s and 80’s revival movements, as well as gay liberation movements,
his works are being recognized again. Art by western gay artists such as “Tom of Finland”
have been sold at high prices by big auction houses for the past ten years.
Hasegawa expresses minority sensualities and illusions of secret rooms in visionary art that the Japanese art scene can boast to the world.
This exhibition features artworks from late 70’s and early 80’s that give off vibrations of the techno pop popular during the era.
