Koumi-machi Kogen Museum of Art

Opened on July 29, 1997. Koumi-machi Kogen Museum of Art was designed by Tadao Ando and is located n Matsubara Heights, at the base of the magnificent Mt. Yatsugatake. The museum's collection includes works from the late Kesao Kuribayashi, a painter and former member of the “Kokugakai” society as well as a Koumi-machi local, and the late Tatsuzo Shimaoka, a ceramic artist who was designated a Living National Treasure. Special exhibitions feature local artists, contemporary art, architecture, and design.
