Hosomi Museum

Located in Kyoto's eastern district of Okazaki, the city's "cultural zone," this museum exhibits some 1000 works of fine Japanese artworks from the Hosomi Art Collection. Notable items include Heian and Kamakura Buddhist and Shinto art, Muromachi ink paintings, Negoro lacquer ware and tea ceremony kettles, Momoyama ceramics and cloisonné, and also Edo painting by Rimpa artists and the renowned Ito Jakuchu.
The museum organizes regular exhibitions, seminars and lectures helping to promote Japanese traditional culture throughout the year.
