Artists

Atsuhiko Misawa
This year's Tsukurikake Lab will feature sculptor Atsuhiko Misawa, who will develop a project inspired by the city of Chiba with members of Connections, an art collective with which Misawa works.

The Chiba City Museum of Art is located in an area with many cultural facilities, including a science museum and a shrine. The theme of "filling the void" began with Misawa's interest in the "hollowing out" of various aspects of culture and the economy, which he felt was a common problem in cities, after having held exhibitions in various locations throughout Japan.

In this project, Misawa and the members of Connections will work together with visitors to create works that "fill the void.
