Artists

Mari Yamazaki
Mari Yamazaki has been living a borderless lifestyle since traveling alone through Europe at the age of 14. Her knowledge and experiences, cultivated while studying in Italy and living around the world, are manifested in various forms, such as her representative work "Thermae Romae," a manga that crosses ancient Roman and modern Japanese bathing cultures, and numerous essays. Her diverse interests and prolific creative energy consistently captivate many people, and her creative activities supported by solid technical skills continue to inspire active artists and many others aspiring to pursue the path of art.

In this retrospective exhibition, we aim to explore the source of her inspiration by examining her vast world from the perspectives of "manga artist," "painter," and "writer." This exhibition will showcase her work from childhood to her latest creation, "Thermae Romae II."
