The Beautiful World of Minerals

Gifu Prefectural Museum
Finished
For 4.6 Billion Years since the birth of Earth, minerals created through the long processes of Earth's activities lie dormant throughout the land. These minerals have not only been utilized as resources but have also captivated human eyes with their beauty, often used for decorative purposes.

This exhibition will showcase not only minerals with beautiful colors and unique shapes but also those that exhibit fluorescence under ultraviolet light and meteorites. Particularly noteworthy are minerals discovered in Gifu Prefecture, the Hokkaido Stone that gained attention, and meteorites that originated from Mars.

Numerous newly added items to the collection will be displayed, allowing visitors the opportunity to explore the fascinating minerals that sleep beneath the surface.
