Artists

Seiichi Motohashi, Robert Doisneau
Seiichi Motohashi, born in Tokyo, has spent over 50 years documenting the ever-changing society and the lives of its people through photography and film. On the other hand, Robert Doisneau often captured the simple joys in everyday life with a sense of humor about his birthplace Paris, and its suburbs. Although these two photographers come from different times and places, they have left behind remarkable photojournalistic works on similar themes, including coal mines, circuses, markets, and more. Moreover, both of them, having experienced the upheaval caused by World War II in their respective regions and eras, found strength and richness in the lives of humble yet resilient people, capturing these disappearing scenes through their lenses.
