Seiichi Horiuchi
Seiichi Horiuchi, the legendary art director representing the Showa era, is known for the logos and designs of the magazines "Anan" and "Brutus." While handling the design of magazine logos, book covers, and posters, he also excelled as an author of numerous masterpiece picture books, such as "Kurousuma Blanky," "Gurunpa Nursery School," and "Taro's Outing," where he ingeniously employed various techniques in composition and layout.

In the post-war era, amidst the turbulent society, Horiuchi believed in the power of the visual element of "painting" and demonstrated his talent in advertising, design, and illustration. This exhibition showcases approximately 200 pieces, ranging from the oil paintings of his youth influenced by Picasso and Junnosuke Matsumoto to the original drawings of picture books, illustrations for books and magazines, and landscape paintings depicting cities worldwide from his later years. Accompanied by numerous materials, it presents the full scope of his artistic career. "Drawing" was the origin of his creation and also a source of joy in life.
