Artists

Ryuzo Kawano
The Kibibi Museum showcases a collection spanning from ancient to modern times, aiming to convey the charm of the history and culture of the local Kibi region. In addition, as the third installment focuses on local artists currently active both domestically and internationally, the museum spotlights Ryuzo Kawano.

Originally from Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Kawano has been based in Okayama City since 2000, engaging in creative activities spanning three-dimensional sculpture, two-dimensional artworks, music, and more, regardless of technique or material.

Titled "Wandering," this exhibition will feature new works such as "If" (2024) and "Tokoyo no Umi" (2014) displayed across three distinct spaces. Accompanied by music in each exhibition room, visitors are invited to embark on a journey through Kawano's world of sculpture.
