Artists

Rokubei Kiyomizu
This exhibition features the work of ceramic artist Rokubei Kiyomizu the 8th, who explores new possibilities in three-dimensional and spatial expression, transcending contemporary art and architecture.

Highlighting the uniqueness of his creations is the intentional incorporation of warping through the "tatara forming" technique, where cut clay slabs are joined according to drawings and then fired. The exhibition showcases over 40 pieces, ranging from sculptural objects with a carving-like quality to large-scale works designed for specific spaces and recent pieces emphasizing the functional aspect of vessels with enhanced internal spaces. It provides a broad overview of Kiyomizu's journey in ceramics.
