Renewal Exhibitionー Murashige Araki: Warlord Who Fought Nobunaga

Itami City Museum of Art, History and Culture
Finished
During the Sengoku Period, Murashige Araki achieved great military success in his many battles under Nobunaga Oda, who dreamed of unifying the country. However, in modern times, Murashige has been described as a "coward." This is because he suddenly rebelled against Nobunaga and fled, leaving his wife and children behind after a year-long struggle. The strange fate of this man, who rose from the ranks of a powerful local family to become a tea master in his later years, has been the subject of many novels and various portrayals of him. This exhibition traces the life of the warrior Murashige through historical materials and artworks.
