Masaru Tatsuki, Shuntaro Tanigawa
The photographs are taken for an exhibition currently on view at Play Museum, Tachikawa, [Shuntaro Tanigawa Picture Book★Department Store] (April 12- July 9, 2023). Poet Shuntaro Tanigawa has created a new poem [Suki-no a-i-u-e-o] which says what he likes along the Japanese syllabary aiueo. Taking that as an inspiration, Masaru Tatsuki has traveled to various places in Japan to fulfill his own image inspired by those words. For Tatsuki, with so-sora(sky), he captures the sky above Hiroshima, in mu-mukashi (long ago), a portrait of Mr. Tanigawa holding a photo of his childhood, in ho-hone (bone), a skull of a deer sitting on a tree root, that reminds us of his series of TOHOKU and kuragari. The photo book is planned to be published soon by Play Museum.
