From the perspective of manga as a global domain, women are a minority and have a relatively short history. However, since the 21st century, as the field of manga has expanded globally, female artists have played a significant role in shaping the freedom of expression across various regions. The influence of Japanese manga has also been notable in this development.

This exhibition focuses on Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia—regions with a strong connection to Japanese manga and with which we are familiar. By exploring the modern history of each region and viewing representative contemporary artists and works, the aim is to allow visitors to experience the freedom of expression and the power of women nurtured by history.
