Makoto Morimura "The Pre-emptive Multi-task"

The Three Konohana
Finished

Artists

Makoto Morimura
Makoto Morimura creates by layering his own manual actions on printed materials containing specific information. Based on the combination of these two major elements, Morimura has made a strong impression by creating work that encourages a look at the information in a different way based on its use or image on the printed matter. By using his personal experiences and events as the inspiration for his work, it has a centripetal force that leads the viewer to their own daily life and familiar things.

This exhibition will use "pre-emptive multi-tasking," which refers to the function of a personal computer's CPU, as a metaphorical keyword to explore the trends and future developments in Morimura's production and expression that underlie both the work from the past 20 years in the first period and the new series of work in the second period of the exhibition. The aim of the exhibition is to explore the trends and future developments in Morimura's work.

In the first period of the exhibition, approximately 30 works created from the mid-2000s to last year will be on view, and in the second period, about 6 works from the latest "PoSD" series will be presented.

First Period: 10/27 (Thu) - 11/20 (Sun)
Second Period: 11/26 (Sat) - 12/11 (Sun)
*The works will be replaced between the first and second periods.
