The Three Konohana is a gallery space opened in Konohana-ku, Osaka, which will practice various elements necessary to consider and reconstruct our contemporary art in the next generation, by replacing them with a new platform. We will be promoting a variety of projects, centering on exhibitions and specializing in contemporary art.
The key concept of the gallery space is contained in “three/3. With an awareness of the presence of "third parties" in mind, we will not stay only in the conventional relationship of "artist, gallery director, and art lover" fixed within a limited community, but will find new "third parties" and welcome them into this space. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity to discuss the value of art and the way it should be in-depth, along with today's ever-changing values.
By continuously holding these three types of exhibitions, "Konohana's Eye," "Director's Eye," and "Gallerist's Eye," we hope to provide a forum where artists who should play leading roles in the art world, and the galleries, directors, and curators who support them, can be discussed in depth. Through these three exhibitions, we will examine the relationship between artists, who should play a leading role in the art world, and the galleries, directors, and curators who support them and pursue an ideal form of collaboration that should be pursued not only in Osaka and the Kansai region but also in Japan. Furthermore, we hope to discover here the meaning of preserving outstanding contemporary artists, works, and expressions for posterity, as well as the confidence that Japanese contemporary art can move forward soundly with the times in the future.
In addition to the above exhibition projects, we will also propose and execute projects in conjunction with various activities in the Konohana area, which advocates and practices new urban development through art, in order to pursue ideas in art in light of the times and to contribute, even if in a small way, to the development of the social structure in which we live through art.
