Artists

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec et al.
The Belle Époque was a period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century when Paris was one of the world's great metropolises and enjoyed great development.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901), one of the artists who symbolized the hedonistic atmosphere of the time, had a keen eye for observation and precise drawing skills despite his physical disability and was able to accurately depict objects in motion that other artists did not attempt to depict.

This exhibition features approximately 320 works by Lautrec, who ended his life at the young age of 36, Degas, Mucha, Dufy, and others, and introduces the art of Paris, which reflected the glamorous times of the theater, the lively streets, women's fashion, and people's lives.

The Hachinohe exhibition will also feature the "Japonism - Belle Époque Co-Creation Project" with the public as an original project of the Hachinohe exhibition.
