Junichi Nakahara
On August 15, 1946, exactly one year after the end of the war, Junichi Nakahara (1913-1983) launched "Soreiyu," with Nakahara serving as editor-in-chief. Nakahara's numerous works, including magazine production just after the war, were undertaken with the hope of shedding light on an uncertain future and gained overwhelming support from women, greatly influencing creators of later generations. This exhibition, commemorating the 111th anniversary of Nakahara's birth, introduces the full scope of Nakahara's wide-ranging creations, focusing on editorial work for magazines such as Soreiyu, Himawari, and Junior Soreiyu. Nakahara's work, which offered various lifestyle proposals during the chaotic postwar period, provides valuable insights even today, when the future remains uncertain.
