Artists

Itaru Hirama
Photographer Itaru Hirama introduced a new style through "portraits with a sense of dynamism as if you can hear the music," which featured various artists in campaigns like Tower Records' "No Music, No Life." Born in a photo studio in Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture, and strongly influenced by music, for Hirama, "photography and music" are universal themes. In the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, which severely affected his hometown, he opened a photo studio to continue providing photographs that weave together precious memories. This exhibition showcases around 300 works, including portraits of artists, photos taken at Hirama Shashinkan Tokyo, everyday photos of his young daughter, and collaborations with creative director Michihiko Yanai from Koriyama City. Please explore the rich expressive world of Itaru Hirama, who continually explores the possibilities of photography in diverse fields.
